I've received my samples and I'm super impressed with the quality of the decals. They aren't shiny or tacky. I'm going to use mine in the girls play room.

sweet anticipation... the new print:)

Well... I'm glad it's Friday. It's been a tightly packed week - all about ' Go Go Go'.... I'm ready for a real weekend:) Last weekend before the girls start school. The air is thick with anticipation.
Speaking of anticipation, I have a new print in my etsy shop... Sweet Anticipation.

A marriage (friendship) between us and nature. Organic friendship.
This pattern is all about connection.

Well... I wish I had time for a tea party. This morning I feel less like Alice and more like the stressed rabbit with the gloves, and the watch and fear of the Queen (in my case it's the dead lines)...
No worries tho... we'll have us a tea party... once the Queen is dead... ah... I mean the deadlines are met:)

my fabulous news...

I knew this day would come! Fabulous news - prints are now available in my etsy shop! Yep... I finally did it:)
I'll be adding more (as soon as the time fairy grants me more time).
In a mean time - let me know if you'd like to see something turn into print:)

I've been trying to stay away from my computer lately. My clicking hand is hurting and asking for a break... so I paint... cause it uses different muscles for that... and I find it altogether relaxing.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND, EVERYBODY!
To my super duper wonderful readers: Thank you so very much for your participation!
My little bingo machine did not go to 137... so I had to use online random number generator... and it chose the lucky #74.
So... Dear Anke - please e-mail me your address and I'll ship the tea towels your way:)

BlueQ tea towels GIVEAWAY:)

What we've got here is a little tea towel giveaway! The tea towels aren't little tho... they are 20" x 28" all cotton, hand-woven in India and screenprinted with water-based, non-toxic inks... I had a ton of fun creating these designs for BlueQ, and it makes me happy that they will end up in peoples kitchens:)
So... leave me a comment... and I will pick a winner (using my little bingo ball) on Friday afternoon ... and hopefully brighten someone's weekend. Hooray for giveaways!

Above is my version of Mr. Fox.

just can't wait...

I am beyond exited about Wes Andersen's newest film - The Fantastic Mr. Fox! It's coming out mid November... and I think they couldn't have chosen a better season to premier it. The whole things seems to be very autumnal... orangie yellow... with greys and blues here and there. I've only seen the trailer... but I got high hopes. For starters - it's Wes Andersen (he can't go wrong in my eyes)... and also, it's a stop motion animation with a fabulous star studded cast!
"Settle down there, tiger"... I hear you say - "it's a long way until November"...
You are right... enough bubbling at the mouth...

green summer...

I'm back:) The break just 'swooshed' by me. We finally got hot summer weather over here. Hot and muggy. A few days in the sun at Prince Edward county. A few days of summer magic with the kids... and here I am again... listening to an air conditioner and swimming through a sea of deadlines.
This green post is dedicated to the ever so short and fleeting summer. I would give up all Christmases and birthdays... just to keep the summer for a few more months:)

back to school labels... for you!

It's 'getting ready for the back to school time' again. My girls are starting their new school year on September 2nd. I haven't even started shopping for it yet... but I got some labels already designed... to personalize all that stuff  that would go into their little backpacks:) I'll get my priorities straight soon:)
I'm sharing these with you! Feel free to use them for all your labeling needs:)
To copy: click on the image - it will open up in its own window at a high resolution (300dpi-true size). Copy that to your desktop and feel free to use:) You could make them smaller if you'd like or replace text with your own.

PS.: I'll be back 'working and blogging' on August 17th. I'm off to spend some time with my parents, my family and myself. See you soon:)

Gretel...

Gretel decided to stay in the forest. It was beautiful. So calm and green. Just perfect...
Hansel left to look for the way home. He wasn't too keen on camping.

Wanted to show you Mike's (my best half and a guitar maker (luthier))  latest  creation. Aint she a beauty:)? Her dark back is all buttery smooth... and I love the wonderful graphic wood texture at the front. Very pretty... and she sounds nice too:)

Oh, Dorothy...

I've beer reading the 'Wizard of OZ' (the original version) chapter by chapter to the girls as a bed-time story. They are so into it. They've never seen the movie or heard the story... so it's like discovering America to them. Pleasure to watch them get all exited over what's next:)
The gouache painting is of Dorothy... the way I see her. I did go a bit 'Hollywood' on the shoes and made them ruby (even tho they are silver in the story)... Boy, she really makes me laugh... with her good girl - kind and responsible personality.
